People might not guess that I taught myself how to draw. What started as doodles became a way to capture ideas and unwind. I never got frustrated learning to draw circles before faces. I began with basic shapes, then moved on to outlines, details, and shading. I’ve learned to start with the basics, no matter how complex the picture. I am proud when family and friends ask if I traced a drawing, and I can say it’s completely freehand. Drawing is my creative playground, and it reminds me of what curiosity and practice can achieve.
